New BIC Project

Alhamdulillah, we moved into our new home one year ago with help of Allah SWT and your support and generosity. The first and second floors are fully refurbishment alhamdulillah but there is still work needed on the ground floor. Crucially, the ground floor includes the sisters’ prayer room and their wudhoo (ablution) facilities and offices for staff. Currently sisters are accommodated in the library which is a large space but they will benefit much more once the ground floor prayer room is ready insha’Allah. Thus we appeal for continuous donations. JazakAllah khair.

Having a larger Islamic Centre is crucial for the Muslim community of Northern Ireland, which has grown in recent years. The new facility will be utilised for more than just a place of worship and religious teaching. It will become a community hub, a centre for information and education as well as a focal point for social activities. The building is equipped with disabled facilities and comply with health and safety regulations. Please donate generously and encourage your friends and family to donate in this noble cause.

History of the New BIC Building
In 2016, the Muslim Community of Northern Ireland acquired Aldersgate House, a former office block, for the relocation of the existing Islamic Centre. This remarkable effort was made possible through locally generated funds from our supportive community as well as generous overseas funders, particularly Oman. Building and planning permission approvals were granted in 2018 and a business case was then prepared successfully for the Department for Communities who agreed to part fund the project to the tune of £500,000.
