1.30pm 38 Wellington Park, Belfast, BT9 6DN
IMPORTANT COVID 19 UPDATE
InshaAllah, initially Belfast Islamic Centre will open on 13th July for Duhr prayer only. Numbers are restricted to 19 per session so we will hold prayer from 1.30pm and later sessions once this cohort have left the building. This will be revised as we progress.
Belfast Islamic centre are working hard preparing for opening and have done our best to address the logistics of keeping everyone safe. We believe the protection of the lives and health of the community must take precedence over all, therefore it is paramount we introduce measures to open in the safest manner possible, insha’Allah.
Unfortunately, this means that attendance will be significantly restricted, aspects of communal life (such as classes and meetings) will not be possible for now. We have introduced social distancing measures based on the best scientific advice.
To facilitate cleaning, the mosque will only be open for a short period at prayer time, for now, and you must leave immediately after the conclusion of the prayer. We also ask you to bring your own prayer mats and wear masks to reduce risks of transmitting the virus. Toilet/Wudu area will closed.
We ask those shielding, those with underlying health conditions, children and over 65 to remain at home to pray. Please do not attend if you are ill.
In order to open safely some difficult decisions were required, and we have consulted with health professionals at the Department of Health, The Executive office, the Muslim Council of Britain and the British Islamic Medical Association who have expertise in this area. Decisions will be revised on a regular basis and amended accordingly based on advice.
In making this decision we are sparing no effort to consider, prepare and act in your best worldly and spiritual interest. We ask Allah to bless all those burdened with this heavy responsibility, and ask him to make us among those who assist them in fulfilling it. Please abide by the measures put in place to ensure that the community remain safe in our places of worship, and urge Muslims to continue to exercise the admirable common sense, community spirit and patience that they have shown so far.
Please follow some simple rules
